"The three dilapidated and boarded up buildings at 1123 Stone Church Road East, 1131 Stone Church Road East, and 1135 Stone Church Road East (see second photograph) have been demolished. Next steps, for which relevant City of Hamilton permits have been approved, include the construction of an Apostolic Church, Community Centre, and Banquet Hall. Thank you to the abutting neighbourhoods for your enormous patience as I never gave up working to eliminate those unsafe, unhealthy, ugly, and uninhabitable buildings." -- Councillor Tom Jackson

Councillor Jackson is pleased to announce that demolition permits have been issued for the three derelict buildings on Stone Church Road East (1123, 1131, and 1135) located east of Upper Ottawa Street, photographed above.

A new Apostolic Church and Community Centre will be built on the footprint of this location and will be a wonderful addition and new entity for Ward 6 and the Red Hill Business Park.

Councillor Jackson wishes to thank the East Mountain community for their enormous patience for the amount of time that it has taken to deal with these dilapidated buildings and is proud that his Ward 6 office was able to assist with all the necessary approvals for the permits.
