Infrastructure Upgrades: Nebo Road from Rymal Road East to Twenty Road East
Please note that a public meeting with a brief presentation of project details of this project has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Valley Park Community Centre and Arena - Community Room 1, at 970 Paramount Drive in Stoney Creek.
Improved municipal services for Nebo Road from Rymal Road East to Twenty Road East are scheduled for 2025 and 2026 as part of the City of Hamilton’s ongoing upgrades to infrastructure. This will include road reconstruction and urbanization, multi-use path installation, storm and sanitary sewer construction, watermain replacement, and signal installation at Nebo Road and Twenty Road East.
The City is currently in the design phase for the project, and upon completion of design, the City will tender the project and review contractors bids.
Of particular note, the watermain replacement will ensure the City’s high standard of water quality is maintained and increase water pressure for both residences and the Hamilton Fire Department. Where required, water services will be replaced to the property line so as to meet current standards. (Please note that the service past the property line is the homeowner's responsibility and upgrading this portion requires separate arrangements.)
In addition, to meet current and future demands, the work will also involve upgrading and/or repairing storm and sanitary sewers. New sanitary and storm sewers will be installed along a portion of Nebo Road. Information regarding payments for new sewers and any connections as per the Municipal Act will be provided to residents and business owners.
For those looking to sever their property and need additional sanitary, storm, or water services from the City’s infrastructure to the residential property line, please contact Planning and Economic Development at (905) 546-2424, x4221 or e-mail [email protected]. Services may be installed during construction if approved and paid for in advance. As with any construction, some inconvenience to residents and businesses can be expected, and your patience during construction is appreciated.
If you have work to be completed on underground utilities, or if you require new service(s), please arrange with a private contractor to have your works completed in advance of our works.
If you have any special requirements for wheelchair access, or a medical condition that may require special needs at some point during construction, please advise the Construction Section at (905) 546-4313 as soon as possible.
Residential Approaches: If you do not already have an existing driveway approach ramp and you would like to inquire about the possibility of obtaining one or widening your existing driveway approach ramp, please contact City of Hamilton Parking Operations at (905) 540-6000 or [email protected] in order to determine if your property meets the qualifications for a driveway approach ramp or widening.
Commercial Properties: If you do not already have an existing driveway approach ramp and you would like to inquire about the possibility of obtaining one, please contact City of Hamilton Corridor Management at (905)-546-2424, x4577 in order that the required documents may be finalized prior to the construction date.
Construction activity may occupy the entire width of the road, but local and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while the upgrades are completed. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Nasrin Firouzbakht, Program Manager - Designer (Public Works) at [email protected].
