🆕 Infrastructure Investment Paves Dividends Down the Road, Head and Shoulders Above the Rest
I am pleased to announce that Public Works - Roads South division has been busy repairing potholes and performing base repairs to improve rideability along the Kenilworth Access. In addition, they have also carried out shoulder maintenance on the north side of Rymal Road East along the road edge. I'd like to thank the Public Works - Roads South team that operate out of the District 4 Yard on Rymal Road East.
Indeed, these two arterial roadways have been the subject of numerous complaints from Ward 6 constituents and my commitment has been to repair and restore them as much as possible to ensure road safety.
I have also successfully lobbied for both of these roads to be significantly improved. The full re-paving of the Kenilworth Access -- from top to bottom -- is scheduled for 2027 and Rymal Road East will be expanded to 5 lanes (two lanes in each direction with a middle turning lane) from Darnall Road to Upper James Street starting in 2027-2028. I'm happy to note that the East Mountain section of Rymal Road (from Darntall Road to Upper Sherman Avenue) will be expanded first.
