🆕 Not to Drone On, But An Uplifted Councillor Jackson Secures New, Accessible Playground
Councillor Jackson is happy to announce, as a result of his collaborative work with the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB), that he secured unanimous support at Council for a new, accessible play structure to replace the existing play structure that has reached its end of life at Randall Park, adjacent to Lincoln Alexander Elementary School.
Councillor Jackson is grateful to the HWDSB for offering their land so that the play structure can remain in the Randall neighbourhood.
Between May 19, 2026 and June 30, 2026, the City offered a survey to the public to provide their feedback regarding this upgraded playground. The survey provided images of various playground components, which were grouped into their respective categories, allowing respondents to select their top choices for each. Additionally, written responses were received, which contained feedback and information regarding the demographics of survey respondents. City staff are currently in the process of completing the new playground design and will be incorporating the feedback received from the survey. The design is expected to be finalized in 2026 and will be shared on the project website here. Playground installation is anticipated to be in the spring of 2027.
