Police Enforcement, Photo Radar, & Red Light Cameras

I am constantly hearing from my constituents of the need for regular and continuous roadway safety and traffic calming measures. My advocacy will continue with greater police visibility and the return of photo radar to two or three streets in Ward 6 this year. Stay tuned on locations to be announced soon. Also, remember that there are four red light cameras in Ward 6 all along Upper Gage Avenue (i.e. Fennell Avenue East, Mohawk Road East, Stone Church Road East, and Rymal Road East). I’m also hopeful, working with Hamilton Police Service Chief Frank Bergen and Deputy Chiefs Ryan Diodati and Paul Hamilton, that if an auto theft program is launched this year, I will insist that Ward 6 be the first pilot site. This was mentioned at the Hamilton Police Board budget presentation on January 28, 2025.
