🆕 The (Pickleball) Court of Public Opinion: Relishing Net Gains for the East Mountain Community
On Thursday, April 23, 2026, Councillor Jackson joined Christine Simpson (Canadian television personality formerly of Sportsnet and Hockey Night In Canada) and brought greetings at the grand opening of the Gretzky Pickleball Club located at 180 Nebo Road in Ward 6.
Championed by Glen Gretzky (brother of Wayne Gretzky) and Chris McCullough via a charity pickleball event hosted by the Special Olympics, the 25,000-square-foot facility boasts six pickelball courts, three TrackMan golf simulators, and "Paddles" -- a sattelite eatery of Brantford's Mercasa Little Italy Eatery & Catering featuring pizza and panini.
The Gretzky Pickleball Club is also the official training facility for Special Olympics Ontario pickleball and golf athletes and will be hosting the inaugural Special Olympics Provincial Pickleball Championships in July of 2026!
