🆕 Vacant Unit Tax (VUT) for 2026

Please note that your 2026 Vacant Unit Tax (VUT) declaration (to reflect your occupancy status in 2025) is due by Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Late VUT declaration will be accepted up until Friday, May 15, 2026, but will be subject to a $250 late declaration fee.

If you require assistance with submitting your VUT declaration or would like the Ward 6 Office to submit your VUT declaration on your behalf, please contact Sam Minniti at [email protected] or at (289) 442-7183. Please have your Roll Number, Access Code, and property address ready.

Also, the VUT department is hosting a variety of VUT Drop-In Clinics at various locations throughout Hamilton during the month of March. The VUT Drop-In Clinic in Ward 6 is taking place on Tuesday, February 10 at the Hamilton Public Library – Sherwood Branch (467 Upper Ottawa Street) from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.

In addition to this VUT Drop-In Clinic, Councillor Jackson will provide another VUT Drop-In Clinic either in late February or early March. Details will be annonced.
